This succulent perennial is known for taking about 10 years to bloom then dying soon after. The flowers it produces are creamy in colour and unlike many agaves, the foliage of this species is non-spiky, making it welcome in any garden. It grows best in open sunny position in a well-drained soil & needs protection from frost.
